Just sitting in my kitchen watching one of my boys dance around and the other one is asleep in my arms. It is a good mama moment.

We have arrived

We have moved into our house. We spent one week cleaning (it needed it badly), painting, Sam put new flooring in the basement with the help of Zack and Lucas, we got sod in the backyard and installed central air. In six to eight weeks we are getting new windows, we didn't check the windows well enough before we made an offer or we would have realized some of the windows don't shut all the way and some of them are broken. We will get the tax credit for putting in the window so that helps with the money.
I am a little nostalgic for the old house. A lot our life together happened there. It was the first home Sam and I lived in together, we got engaged there, and we brought both of our boys home from the hospital there. I am loving being a homeowner. We got to pick our own paint colors and it is our home.
Elijah has been having a hard time with all the changes recently. He is acting out but I think he is starting to feel better. Isaac can now roll over but tends to only do it when he is mad that I put him down. Sam started school today, he won't have a day off until October! Lucas is our new roommate!
I am grateful for all the help we have had from our friends and family! We couldn't have done this without them. Zack, Lucas, Laura, Larry, Teresa, Gabrielle, Eric, Dani, Val ,Andrea, Jen and Jacqui thank you! I am really grateful for my parents they have done so much to help us. They have put a lot of time, money and energy into making our house nice. Thank you mom and dad.

3 months

Isaac is three months old today! I can not believe three months has already gone by. Isaac's personality is starting to come out and he is laughing and smiling a lot. He loves to watch his brother play and he loves to sit on my lap and talk to me. He likes watching Sam throw Elijah around, I think he is looking forward to his turn. When Isaac was first born I thought he was going to be a little calmer than Elijah. I was wrong. Isaac can cry for a whole car ride, he will cry in his swing the whole time I get showered and all because I dared to put him down. The minute I pick him up he stops crying and looks at me like I was foolish to even try and put him down. He is a good sleeper! He sleeps for about five hours at night then eats and sleeps for another four of five hours. He has the best fat rolls ever! He is such a chunky baby, it makes me laugh.
After tonight Sam will be done with his first year of grad school and we will be home owners!!!

Yesterday on our way to the park Elijah kept telling me "I gonna freak out at park". When we got there he did run wild but no freaking out. He did for the first time meet another little boy and play with him. He has always done the side by side play but I have never actually seen him interact and imagine with another boy! They chased eachother all over the park, they ran away from the animals, rode the other little boys scooter, and played with his one year old brother. It made me so proud, there was also a little part of me that was sad. I know that sounds weird but watching Elijah take these new steps means he is one more step away from me. I want him to be independent and happy but a little part will always be heart broken.
Elijah has also traded his Cars obsession for a Michael Jackson obsession. It is so funny. The one problem is it is easier to get Car clothes and toys than it is to get Michael Jackson anything. My mom got him a Michael Jackson shirt but they don't make Michael Jackson shirts for little boys, it is an adult small. It has kind of become his blanket or he likes me to wear it. Oh my funny boy. I love that personality.
This next week Sam has finals, we close on our house, Laura moves and hopefully we start the process of moving. Stress here we come!!!!

Elijah is filthy. The swimming pool has been turned into a mud bath, my dust pan was used to shovel the mud into the swimming pool. Isaac is cooing at me. My house is half way clean and my laundry is almost done. The dogs are bugging me. Sam will be home in three hours. I talked to Dana today, Laura watched my kids for me, and I had lunch with Lucas. So pretty much it was a perfect summer day. The only thing that would have made it better..... an ice coffee.

I can't get over The Chunk.

I love the 24th of July. It is my favorite summer holiday. We live half a block east from where the fireworks go off. Everyone came over for pie and beer, then fireworks. It was a lot of fun. This will be one of the things I miss when we move. I love being this close to all the 24th action. I only took a few pictures, they don't do the night justice.

It is way too hot to be outside so we went to the Dinosaur Museum today. It was pretty cool. Elijah loved the ocean part and l liked being entertained in an air conditioned building. I made Jacob come with us. He seemed mildly amused but mostly he was bored. He helped me with the boys and didn't have to go to another baseball game.
I am feeling better. It is easier to recover from surgery when you don't have an organ taken out, just a misplaced IUD.

Medicine makes everything all better.

Elijah just launched himself off our bed! There was a big boom, a loud scream and running parents. Elijah was crying and holding his head asking for medicine. I wonder if the asking for medicine every time he is hurt or tired is a bad thing?!

The Drama Continues

Well I guess I must like drama. On Monday I had an IUD placed. On Monday evening I started having abdominal pain, by Tuesday the pain was getting intense. The pain was never constant though so I didn't worry too much. I called my dr. and she scheduled and ultrasound just to make sure things were okay. I went to my ultrasound yesterday and they couldn't find the IUD. I had an abdominal x-ray done at two in the afternoon and they found the IUD in my lower right quadrant! I was told I was going to OR at six. By the time I got into the surgery the IUD had traveled to my left upper quadrant. The IUD is now sitting on my kitchen counter, that is not where I wanted it placed! Today I am recovering from another surgery and being grateful my wonderful husband. My stomach looks like a laparoscopy scar battlefield between this surgery, my gallbladder being taken out and two c-sections. All that in two and a half years. LAME!!!

Happy Birthday Sam

That's right Sam turned 31 yesterday. We had a nice chill day yesterday, then Sam and I went to dinner all by ourselves. Thank you Laura. Elijah got his dad packaging for a ball (he kept the ball for himself) and a nice drawing of Sam eating pancakes.
Today we went to Jordanelle with some friends and family. We drank some beer, did a little swimming, ate some food and chilled.

This is what I get to wake up to every morning. I love being their mama.

Isaac had his two month check up today. He is healthy of course. He gained an average of 50 grams a day for the last seven weeks. He weighs 12lbs 15 oz! I thought he was a tank but he is only in the 50th percentile for weight. He had to get his first set of vaccinations. Poor baby it broke my heart when he started screaming in pain. I hope he isn't too fussy tonight. Good thing I have the goods to comfort him.

I thought Elijah loving to listen to Beat It was cute about the first five times. Now I miss BillieJean. It is cute watching him try and dance like Michael Jackson! That will never get old.

Happy Birthday America

We had a fun filled weekend. On Friday we looked at houses again. This time though we found a house we both liked, so we bid on it. We won't find out until Monday if our offer was accepted. After looking at houses the boys and I went swimming with Aunt Laura. We all got too much sun (except Issac) and had a lot of fun. I think it is time to get Elijah in swim lessons. Saturday morning we woke up early and headed to Park City. I ran the 5k with Isaac while Sam and Elijah played at the park. Afterward we had brunch and then watched the parade. Elijah was really into the parade this year. He liked the horses, the music and the cars! That evening my dad came over for a BBQ and fireworks. We only did a handful of fireworks but it was enough to entertain Elijah. Today was a chill day with a little bit of playing outside and some good naps. Sam had to work and the ER was very very busy.
Elijah is into Michael Jackson. We get into the car and he asks to listen to Michael Jack and sings Beat it. I love it! He is also talking back a lot! That I do not love. He tells me I am in doing a big fat no no and that I am in big trouble and just tells me no a lot.
Sam sold one of his Felt bikes and is currently looking for a new bike. I usually have no idea what he is talking about when he talks about bikes but I know he is interested in buying a mountain bike that is gold. That could change though.

Whatever you do, do not put Isaac down. But most important make sure he is close to a food source at all times!! If you do not follow these rules you may experience this.

Father's Day

Me and my boys are so lucky to have Sam. He is such a good dad. I don't think he even knows how much we love him. Sam is the kind of dad who gets dirty with Elijah and laughs when Isaac is in his zen spot. He takes being a dad very seriously because he wants his boys to know he loves them and that he is there for them. He also knows when to laugh and when to play with them. When I watch him interact with the boys or I hear him have a conversation with Elijah I fall even more in love with him. Thank you Sam for working so hard for your family.
My dad is the reason I picked Sam. My dad has worked so hard for his kids and I know he loves having all of us in his life. Even though we cause him stress. My dad is one of my best friends, he is one of the people I call when I need someone to talk to. I am a lucky woman to have him and to have Sam!

6 weeks!!

That's right my baby is six weeks old! Isaac is so cute. He is smiling and working on laughing. Plus he is the cutest rolly polly baby! He is happy as long as he is eating or being held. I have to carry him in the front carrier if I want to get anything done.
Elijah got his cast off! I am so happy for him but not so happy for me. That means he is back to full on running, riding his bike, riding the skateboard (at least trying to), and climbing.
I started running and doing pilates again. Running with a double jogger is a lot of work! Pilates is hard when your stomach muscles are almost non-existent. I keep thinking after pushing the double jogger for a year I will be a bad-ass mama! Then I can start training for a triathlon.
Sam is keeping busy with school and work. He is still riding his bike to work every day even in all this rain.

My days go by so fast. I keep thinking I might have this whole mom of two thing down and then one of the boys does something to let me know this is a learning process and I just have to go with the flow. Between chasing Elijah and constantly feeding Isaac there is little time left for other things. Elijah is currently interested in ice, we fill the ice trays and have to keep checking the freezer throughout the day to see when it becomes ice (did I mention he is two). Isaac is getting so big, he is getting a double chin and thunder thighs. I think chunky baby's are so cute.
Eric and Juanita got married one week ago. I am so happy for them! Eric is a good man and deserves all the good things in life.
Yesterday was Lucas' birthday. For some reason him turning 26 makes me feel old. If he gets old that really means I am old!
Lucas is going to Africa at the end of this month and my mom is going to Japan. I will be at home wondering what they are bringing me back.
Bama is here visiting! It has been nice to have her and nice for her to see the boys and watch Elijah in action. We tried to go to the zoo one day but we got rained out. Mostly we have been hanging out at home but it has been a nice visit.
