Yesterday

Being carried around in the mama sling

He loves to cuddle with his baby brother like this

 another hilarious family shot

Sam reading to his boys

He likes wearing his pants like this. He says it makes him
look like Mickey Mouse.

My c-section was scheduled for yesterday. Funny when we scheduled my section I knew Captain wasn't going to wait that long, I just didn't think he would be coming as soon as he did.  He is getting big already, his newborn clothes are getting tight and he is starting to get fat rolls. I say bring on the fat rolls, I love fat babies!!!

10 days old

My handsome baby boy is ten days old! The third time around caring for new born is so easy, it is the big kids that are the work. I think we are starting to get into some kind of routine and maybe figuring out how to make sure all three of the boys are getting what they need.
I am finally starting to feel like a normal person again! C-sections are hard. I think me not being me has been harder for Elijah and Isaac than anything else.
I have been thinking about how much my life has changed since I met Sam. Eight years ago I never thought I would get married or have kids and I was really good with that. Now I am a mother of three wild boys and I am so happy to be Sam's wife. Meeting Sam changed everything for the better. Sam loving me changed me and made me a better person.  The last two weeks have been a challenge for us but I think we have handled it as a team.  There is nothing better than watching Sam hang out with our boys, he is such a good dad it makes me love him even more!
I have also been feeling very grateful for our friends and family. Everyone has been so good to us.

Sorry for the cheese I think the baby hormones are making extra cheesy.

He has arrived!!

On September 13th at 1:28 p.m Lucas Dalton Atencio Sloan made his arrival.
aka Luc  aka Captain

After six long days of early labor I was finally taken back for my c-section. The minute I heard his little cry everything was worth it!  This baby was born at 36 weeks so he was considered late pre-term.  He weighed 7lb 5oz and was 20 inches long. He had no problems at all! I can not even imagine how big he would have been had he waited until 39 weeks.

I can not believe I am the mother of three little boys. Elijah is such a good big brother, he is already asking when Captain gets to sleep with him. Isaac is warming up to him, he is upset he can't feed him. I keep trying to explain only woman can feed babies but he insists we can paint boobs on his pecs and he should be good to go.

Luc brought his big brothers skateboards home from the hospital. Coolest little brother present ever!

I am good at a lot of things, but labor is not one of them!!!
I started having good contractions on Friday. After about three hours they would stop and I would be exhausted but ready to continue my day. I did this all weekend and yes I started to get a little emotional. Yesterday morning at about three I woke up with intense contractions. I couldn't stay in bed so I paced front sidewalk for a while. At about six they calmed down enough that I could get some rest. By early afternoon the contractions were back and this time they weren't going away. I finally called my doctor and she had me go to the hospital to get checked. I know my body and I know how much I truly suck at early labor so I didn't think I was going to be dilated.
My mom met Sam, the boys and me at the hospital. They got me all hooked up to the monitors and yes I was having strong contractions that were about three to five minutes apart but I was only dilated to a one!!! I was dilated to a one two weeks ago! They let me labor for two hours and yes the contractions kept coming but no I did not dilate anymore. So they loaded me up on Morphine and Phenergan and sent me home.  As of this morning my contractions are back to being irregular.
This is just the way I labor, you know VERY slow. I did this for four days with Isaac before I had, had enough. Today is day five with this baby, but I feel like I have to stay strong. I am only 36 weeks but this coming Friday I will be 37 weeks.
Good thing this is our last baby I am not sure Sam could handle the stress of early labor again! Poor guy, he is so good to me and takes such good care of me. I can see the stress in his eyes.
So maybe the next time I blog I will have a baby or maybe I will be complaining about how much I suck at early labor again.

p.s I have no idea if I am good at active labor because I have never gotten there! Babies and this mama have a hard time being in labor for days at a time.

Randomness

                             Papa Geno the antagonist
                        Color blind fashion

                                         Traditional Atencio-Sloan family picture

Life is moving quickly.

Elijah started all day kindergarten! He seems to be enjoying himself and comes home with lots of stories. He is growing his hair long, so he can look like Tommy from the Power Rangers. When he grows up he wants to be a race car driver and a rock star.
Isaac is a three year old. He has moments of pure sweetness and moments of pure three year old terror. He calls me his chick and wants to buy me purple everything! He has figured out the word hate and when he gets on his three year old rampages he hates everything including high school kids.
Summer was great. We got quite a few days of paddle boarding and chilling on the beach. We went camping/cabining a couple of times. Because it was so hot and I am big pregnant we had lots and lots of pool days!
With a lot of help from our family we got our basement painted and lots of little things updated. Sam and I moved our room downstairs and we put Captain's nursery in the room right by us.
I am feeling pretty good for being 35 week pregnant. My biggest complaint is that he has dropped so much walking is difficult. Isaac and Elijah seem very excited to have a baby brother and I am pretty sure this baby is going to be a wild thing just like his brothers.
Sam has been working hard! He is trying to get most of his shifts in before the end of the month, so that means a couple of 17 hour days for him. He rides his bike every day to work, goes to the gym and then works a 10 to 17 hour shift!
I can not believe it is already September. Soon we will have a new baby!
