Week One

Sam finished his first week of full time work and full time school. It was a busy week for him. I have to admit I got a lot emotional. I have a hard time with him being gone all the time and then when he is home he is so busy. I know selfish! I do realize he is doing this for our family and he doesn't love it either. So my new goal is to be more supportive and a lot more understanding. I love you Sam and I am proud of you.
Sam is commuting to and from school/work. In one week he rode almost eighty miles and burned three thousand calories!!

7:30 am

Elijah has always been a good sleeper. He likes to sleep in just like his mom does and it has always worked well for me. Now that Sam has been going to bed earlier and earlier for school so have we. But that means we have been getting up earlier and earlier. Elijah woke up this morning right before 7:30!!! To make things worse he is not a morning person. He is so grumpy. The only good thing is I get my runs in very early and Elijah gets his nap in by 11:00.

School Starts

<
Since Sam is going to be in grad school full time and working full time I am going to be updating the blog more often. I am a little bit nervous and a lot excited for Sam. I am also very proud of him. I am going to be taking care of all the household stuff including more of the cooking. I need new meal ideas if anyone has any. Something with veggies since we are working on getting Elijah to eat veggies.

Elijah eating his breakfast.

Sam on his way to school.

Oh so serious

And yes I am teaching him to be a liberal democrat.

Tomorrow marks the start of 3 years of deferred gratification. What's that mean? At least for the next semester it means school Monday through Thursday and work Friday through Sunday.

18 month check-up on the boy today and things are great. The pediatrician says now is the time to really keep an eye him because soon he'll be climbing things, pulling stuff over, and mimicking us.

Too bad there are no pictures of him spitting like Katie.

Sweet! Just scored one of these. I'm on the roids now. Appointment with neurosurgeon in 1 week.

Things are different this year. Physically I'm good to go. Here's the big excuse: school will not allow me to fully participate in cross racing. With that said, I hope to hit up some cross practice sessions and possibly a race or two later in the season. The A-bike is still the race machine. Just waiting for cables, housing, and the power-tap harness.

The B-bike is now dressed up and ready to carry me to school 4 days a week and work on the other 3. Full fenders, rack, and super upright position.

The ferrous. With the fit dialed and ergon grips in place will probably be relegated from daily use to escape rides on shore line before work or after classes. Also a possibility: SS CX RACES.

Really I just want to stay healthy and sane during school.

New Things

Elijah is pretty stoked to be a fearless, climbing toddler. We cannot decide how happy we are about his new climbing skills. Tables, chairs, planters, sinks, cabinets, the fridge, the back of the crib. They say this is just the beginning.

We are pretty stoked about Elijah taking naps in his crib. Elijah is not.

Tomorrow's post will deal with the fact that I am still on the bike. Warning, there will be excuses made. There will also be some visuals displaying how I roll. Oh, I was thinking about throwing some goals up on here. Later.
